Requirements

Strong understanding of regulatory compliance for local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, DOT, and EPA
Experience in risk management, safety program development, and incident investigation/root cause analysis
Ability to design and implement risk management processes, including financial impact analysis
Skills in conducting risk assessments, audits, and policy compliance
Proficiency in training, education, and building risk awareness among staff and leadership

Responsibilities

Promote and sustain a strong safety culture through awareness, regular training, and employee participation aligned with organizational goals and regulations
Design and implement an overall risk management process, including analysis of financial impacts
Build risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training
Conduct regular risk assessments to identify hazards and implement mitigation measures
Develop and update risk management plans and prepare action plans to decrease risk factors
Lead a Safety Committee and educate leadership about significant business risks
Lead incident/accident investigation and root cause analysis programs
Complete and/or direct safety meetings/training for all employees, ensuring understanding and implementation of safety standards
Ensure individuals understand their accountability for individual risks
Maintain and manage records of insurance claims and policies
Develop new employee risk-based orientation, including safety policies review, training, manual review, and on-the-job observation
Maintain risk management reporting on established metrics and develop new valuable metrics
Conduct policy and compliance audits, including representation with internal and external parties
Assist in preparing and maintaining risk management and insurance budgets
Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies such as OSHA, DOT, and EPA
Create a care culture and positive experience for customers and team members
