Requirements

Graduate of a program recognized by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
Minimum of CRT certification requirements
Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist
Current BLS training
ACLS certification required within twelve months of employment
Minimum of 2 years acute care experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary diseases as ordered by physicians
Work collaboratively with other members of the patient-focused care team to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care, maintaining the patient’s confidentiality at all times
Perform a range of technical procedures related to cardiopulmonary hemodynamics to comprehensively serve patient needs
Assume, under the direction of the Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance
