Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in a quantitative discipline
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in the financial markets, preferably in Agency mortgages
  • Strong quantitative, programming, and database skills, including Python, SQL, and VBA
  • Ability to take independent initiative to become a subject matter expert within the team

  • Conscientiousness and attention to detail
  • Deep understanding of mortgage origination, servicing, prepayments, credit, and secondary markets

Responsibilities

  • Identify and capture relative value investment opportunities in Agency MBS both discretionarily and systematically, particularly in passthrough space
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers to generate relative value ideas through detailed mortgage prepayment research
  • Leverage resources from investment banks to support research and trading opportunities
  • Develop mathematical models to systematically capture trading opportunities
  • Utilize quantitative analysis and technology to streamline existing processes and develop new tools to improve trading efficiency and foster innovation
