Compensation is dependent on current degree enrollment: Research Intern, Undergrad: $94,320 annually; Research Intern, Masters: $106,110 annually; Research Intern, PhD: $140,000 annually.
Persons in these roles are expected to work from our offices in Seattle, with on-site requirements varying based on position and team.
The role targets PhD candidates or strong Masters/undergraduate students with a research background in AI-related fields, particularly computer vision, natural language processing, machine learning, robotics, agents, and/or embodied AI.
Interns work with world-class AI researchers and talented software engineers in a team-based environment focused on ambitious research for big breakthroughs in an exciting and interactive workplace, paired with a mentor and no restrictions on publications.
Strong candidates are PhD candidates or Masters/undergraduates with a solid research background; familiarize yourself with PRIOR team projects like Molmo, MolmoAct, and apply to specific teams by January 10, 2026 for full consideration.
Advances AI through research and engineering
The Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence (AI2) focuses on advancing artificial intelligence through research and engineering.
