Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant credentials
  • Active RN license in the state of practice (for RNs) - Upon Hire
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds

  • Ability to work specified hours: Monday-Friday 5pm-9pm and Saturday-Sunday 9am-5pm (PRN, as needed, floating across 3 Sioux Falls Urgent Care locations)

Responsibilities

  • Perform general nursing care to patients
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards
  • Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic
  • Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing
  • Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider
  • Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure preferences to patients in emergency situations; maintain timely patient flow
  • Greet patients and prepare them for physical examination; screen for health history, take vitals, conduct nursing assessment, and document in patient chart
  • Instruct patients in collection of samples and tests
  • Respond to patient phone calls timely with physician input
  • Educate patients and families about diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and health/wellness maintenance
  • Suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints
  • Maintain exam rooms with supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness; prepare list of needed medical supplies
  • Assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens per lab protocol; perform quality control and maintain records on lab testing
