Active Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Board of Nursing in the state of practice upon hire
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work rotating shifts (days/evenings/nights/weekends), 72 hours every 2 weeks

Responsibilities

Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing nursing care objectives; defining nursing interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends
Provides resident care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicating the nursing care plan and pertinent information to the health care team; coordinating with other healthcare providers; conferring with physicians
Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; examining residents; documenting physical condition, psychological status, and social factors; conferring with family and friends; establishing objectives and interventions
Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing resident care goals; instructing residents, families, and friends on conditions, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions; providing information and resources
Evaluates resident care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes; reviewing records; noting changing conditions; re-evaluating and modifying care plans
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy resident care environment by following infection-control policies, medication administration/storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, organization standards, and legal regulations; alerting others to concerns
Keeps resident care equipment operating by following instructions; troubleshooting; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
Keeps resident care supplies ready by checking stock; anticipating needs; placing/expediting orders; verifying receipt; stocking items
Coordinates admissions, discharges, and transfers to/from the facility
Directs, plans, and coordinates workflow of nursing assistants and other nursing personnel
Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership
