Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Board of Nursing - active license in the state of practice upon hire
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends (72hrs/2wks, every 3rd weekend/holiday)
Preferred: 1-3 years experience working in a clinical environment

Responsibilities

Delivers nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends
Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating nursing care plans to the healthcare team, coordinating with providers, and supporting patients/families
Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting conditions and status, conferring with family/friends, establishing diagnoses/objectives/interventions/schedules
Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing goals, instructing patients/families/friends on conditions/medications/self-care, answering questions, and providing resources
Evaluates patient care by adhering to standards, measuring outcomes, reviewing records, noting changes, re-evaluating objectives, and modifying plans
Maintains safe patient care environment by following infection-control policies, medication procedures, controlled substance regulations, organizational standards, and legal requirements; alerting others to concerns
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records
Maintains patient care equipment by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and arranging repairs
Keeps patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, ordering/expediting/verifying/stocking items
Maintains competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership
