Requirements

  • Properly registered and certified Occupational Safety Technician with at least five years of experience in an HSS role across multiple international locations
  • Registered with the federal government’s SIRPWEB system that meets the requirements of Regulatory Standard Four (NR-4) of the Ministry of Labor and Employment
  • Strong working knowledge of HSS laws and regulations across the Americas
  • Comfortable with regular domestic and international travel, sometimes on short notice
  • Hands-on experience in crisis and emergency management, with the ability to provide calm, effective support in high-pressure situations
  • Proactive, self-starting problem-solver who takes initiative
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the HSS authority and go-to expert for Health, Safety, and Security in Americas offices (e.g., Austin, New York, São Paulo)
  • Develop and implement HSS programs that meet and exceed local regulations, integrating safety into company culture
  • Proactively build and manage programs to reduce risks, prevent incidents, and promote a healthy workplace, including conducting risk assessments and supporting office expansions
  • Act as a core member of the Workplace Incident Management Team, responding to crises and emergencies with specialized support
  • Collaborate with managers and teams across the region, providing training and technical expertise
  • Maintain on-site fire marshal and first-aid programs
  • Partner with the global Head of Workplace Risk and Compliance and Americas Workplace Lead to shape and implement HSS policies worldwide
  • Track HSS performance and contribute to sustainability and ESG initiatives
