Understanding of Ammonia Refrigeration systems
Proficient computer skills
Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools
Strong mechanical background
Able to identify industry standard parts
Electrical experience
Able to operate safely and effectively working with and around moving machinery
Ability to work around blood at times, indoors, exposed to marked changes in temperature and humidity
Willingness to work overtime as required
Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience (ammonia refrigeration preferred) or graduate of an industrial maintenance training program
Physical ability to stand/walk continuously, lift/carry 1-10 lbs frequently and 11-34 lbs occasionally, bend/stoop/squat/crawl/reach above shoulder/crouch/kneel/balance/push/pull occasionally, simple & firm grasping, fine manipulation
Prefer minimum of 2 years’ experience in ammonia refrigeration (formal training program completion or certification can substitute)

Responsibilities

Run the ammonia refrigeration and chlorine systems with minimal supervision
Perform maintenance and repairs on machines and equipment related to boilers and refrigeration
Constantly monitor the status of the ammonia system in accordance with Process Safety Management
Installation and set-up of equipment as needed
Monitor and make necessary adjustments to refrigeration system and related equipment
Perform preventative maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment completing required documentation
Provide pass-down to following shift Technician
Assist experienced Technicians in troubleshooting of equipment and system, assisting with necessary repairs
Complete shift log book and other required paperwork
Assist within department as needed
Other duties as assigned
