Requirements

  • Familiar with ammonia, plant ammonia systems, electrical refrigeration, and other industrial maintenance
  • Able to complete Tyson Level 1 Operators Training within one (1) year of being placed in the position
  • Capable of reading, writing, and using math skills to complete necessary paperwork
  • Able to work competently and efficiently with little or no supervision
  • Follow all Hazmat grooming requirements and become Hazmat Certified
  • Be a member of the Hazmat Team and pass required physical
  • Familiar with plant compressed air system and all water supply systems (e.g., chill water, hot water, city water, and glycol systems)
  • Able to work in harsh environments for short periods of time (e.g., heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, water, mud)
  • Have 1 year maintenance experience within the immediate past 2 years

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain refrigeration systems
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to Tyson policies and procedures
  • Conduct preventative maintenance
  • Conduct safety checks throughout the area
  • Move to different areas of the plant and deal with different temperatures and environments as needed
