Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to safely use brick saw and bricklaying equipment to lay brick
  • Working knowledge of refractory lined units
  • Ability to operate a jib crane and ensure the rigging of the load is correct
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift
  • Ability to safely operate various hand and electrical tools
  • Ability to read, understand and work in conformity with work orders, as directed
  • Ability to detect and correct unsafe or hazardous conditions of equipment and work environment
  • Organized individual with emphasis on quality and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Fundamental computer skills
  • Driver’s license and experience towing trailers
  • 0–2 years of refractory installation knowledge or equivalent construction or manufacturing experience
  • Physical ability: standing, walking, using hands/fingers, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking/hearing (1/3 to 2/3 of time); lifting up to 50 lbs (1/3 to 2/3 of time), over 100 lbs (<1/3 of time); accurate vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception)
  • Tolerance for environmental conditions: working near moving parts, fumes/airborne particles, outdoor weather, extreme heat, electrical shock risk, vibration (1/3 to 2/3 of time); very loud noise (>85 decibels)

Responsibilities

  • Install refractory products through direct, hands-on installation
  • Provide material installation support to customers
  • Ensure HarbisonWalker International equipment is operating in good condition
  • Coordinate and complete preventative and corrective repairs of HarbisonWalker International equipment
  • Coordinate and transport HarbisonWalker International equipment to and from customer sites
  • Assist Lead Installation Specialist in new job set up and preparation
  • Perform equipment parts inventory for general maintenance of HarbisonWalker International equipment
  • Develop and maintain good working/professional relationships with customers
