At least 18 years of age
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's License
Ability to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) and Boiler’s License
Pass pre-employment online tests, work demonstration test, physical abilities test, and physical
Basic math, reading, writing, and verbal skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to learn complex refinery related material
Ability to climb over 75 feet
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations of tank farms or operating units within the refinery
Conduct periodic rounds: monitor equipment and record readings, make required adjustments
Troubleshoot process and equipment problems, including general equipment checks and detecting unusual operating conditions (e.g., noises, abnormal temperature or pressure, leaks)
Detect and respond to process upsets and emergency situations, including firefighting, equipment isolation, and evacuation
Wear personal protective equipment (P.P.E.), including self-contained breathing apparatus, and participate in emergency response activities
Learn refining process operations, tank farm product movements, and loading operations, and qualify on process/tank farm/loading jobs
Learn and work multiple jobs, up to and including the console operator position (control refinery process through computer system)
Work inside and outside in differing climatic conditions, around noises, heat, heights, and refinery equipment
Work rotating 12-hour shifts, as the refinery operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week
