Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Student technologists approved based on recommendation from accredited radiology program director
Registered ARRT preferred
Student technologists approved based on recommendation from accredited radiology program director (certification/licensure)

Responsibilities

Understand and follow the policies and procedures of the hospital with particular attention to the individual policies and procedures set up within the radiology department
Use dosimeter to monitor employee exposure
Operate x-ray and computed tomography equipment to make diagnostic radiographs of designated body parts under the supervision of a director of radiology, following radiologist protocols
Educate patient on exam preparation to achieve the best diagnostic images
Follow policies regarding lead protective devices
Position and instruct patient for particular examination
Use proper supportive devices and angle boards when needed
Use correct exposure factors to produce diagnostic images
Make proper exposure from behind protective barrier or adequate distance from patient and equipment
Be able to differentiate between diagnostic and repeatable images
Follow protocols for administration of contrast
General knowledge of computers and PACS/EMR for job specific duties
Maintains confidentiality when dealing with all customers
Must utilize effective problem-solving skills as appropriate
Conveys enthusiasm and sincerity and promotes Landmann-Jungman Memorial Hospital (LJMH) and its services in a positive manner to all customers
Supports LJMH through the daily application of our mission, vision, and social values while providing quality care and service to our patients, their families, co-workers, physicians, volunteers, and the communities we serve
Must be flexible to change and can work effectively in a team environment
Performs duties in a manner consistent with safety and infection control policies
Employee is required to comply with all applicable laws, regulation and standards associated with, but not limited to HCFA, OSHA, and HIPAA
Coordinates workflow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment
May be involved on organization committees
Is expected to attend in-service meetings and such other training/education to maintain a level of proficiency in their work
