Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in medical devices or high-reliability connectors
  • Experience with cable assemblies, connector design, and electromechanical systems
  • Familiarity with GD&T, DFM/DFA, and tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop state-of-the-art cable connectors for EP catheters, capable of carrying multiple signal types (e.g., RF, sensing, stimulation, thermocouple)
  • Create detailed SolidWorks models and engineering drawings for cables and connectors
  • Collaborate with electrical, systems, and manufacturing teams from concept through production
  • Participate in and lead design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and technical discussions
  • Work closely with suppliers to develop prototypes, manage DFM feedback, and ensure manufacturability
  • Develop and execute test plans and qualification protocols for new cable and connector designs
  • Design and build test fixtures to validate mechanical and electrical performance
  • Support field issues, root cause analysis, and implement design improvements
  • Drive cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives with suppliers
  • Ensure all documentation (e.g., drawings, BOMs, test reports) is complete and compliant with internal standards and regulatory requirements
