Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Physics, EE, or related fields
  • US Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
  • Research experience in one or more of the following areas: quantum optics, quantum networking, nonlinear optics, semiconductor device physics, and systems engineering
  • Experience developing innovative solutions based upon the application of relevant research results from a wide variety of sources
  • An expert in the lab with proven track record of problem solving in more than one of the following: free space optics, fiber optics, integrated photonics, microwave systems engineering, custom electronics design, vacuum equipment and hardware
  • A record of publications in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Active participation in R&D team activities
  • Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment
  • Willing to travel occasionally
  • Experience with multi-physics simulation (both device and optical system), computer-aided design, and layout (a plus)
