Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a food processing environment and/or combination equivalent education and experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Computer literate; experience with Oracle or other SAP program desired
  • Advanced knowledge of food safety practices and GMPs required
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment/process problems and propose solutions; problem-solving skills essential
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus, but not required
  • HACCP, PCQI, SQF and/or BRC preferred

Responsibilities

  • Execute food safety audits to ensure compliance with directives from third party audit bodies, local, state and federal agencies
  • Conduct Wonderful Citrus audit procedures and ensure facility documents are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained
  • Evaluate overall product quality by monitoring product lines via testing and visual inspection
  • Educate and instruct plant personnel in QC testing, equipment and general sanitation, food safety and GMP practices; ensure these procedures are continuously maintained
  • Consult with plant supervisors and leads on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields
  • Monitor and correct (if necessary) inspection activities for product throughout production cycle
  • Implement inspection criteria and procedures
  • Provide direction and support in the completion of food safety corrective actions in the packinghouse
  • Monitor, develop, and execute food safety and quality monitoring audits in the packinghouse
  • Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams
  • Ensure safety of all associates and encourage participation in WOW initiatives
  • Monitor and manage (as needed) quality system in Oracle and mobile solution
  • Perform supervisory activities for direct reports, including administering wage information and allocations, developing and coaching staff, making staffing decisions, and representing staff interests to department management
  • Implement food safety and quality system processes for the WPL facility
  • Conduct audits of production facility to ensure company, federal, state and local food safety standards are maintained
  • Consult with Quality Control Director to implement and monitor quality systems to ensure accurate and consistent quality attribute monitoring and reporting
  • Function as an information source to pack house leadership team, sales, and company support departments to provide quality and food safety data
  • Other duties as assigned
