Senior Python Software Engineer
MoovFull Time
Senior (5 to 8 years)
Candidates should have 5-6 years of engineering experience, including developing and operating large-scale web scraping systems using tools like Selenium, Playwright, Beautiful Soup, or Puppeteer. Expertise in Python development, particularly with frameworks like FastAPI, is required, along with advanced, hands-on experience with DBT, Snowflake, S3, and AWS Glue. Deep knowledge of Kafka, Redis, and PostgreSQL, including optimization and scaling, is essential. Proven experience in performance optimization, scaling systems, diagnosing bottlenecks, and implementing solutions for high-volume data environments is necessary. A strong background in building robust, high-throughput APIs designed for consuming large, processed datasets and experience mentoring other engineers and leading technical efforts are also required. Candidates must have a reliable work-from-home setup with a 4th generation or higher Intel i3 or equivalent processor, at least 4GB RAM, Windows 10 or above or MAC OSX, dual monitors, a stable internet connection (10 Mbps or higher), a PC headset, and an HD webcam.
The Python Developer III will build and maintain high-performance backend services using Python/FastAPI, integrating with Kafka or RabbitMQ, and exposing clean, reliable APIs. They will leverage deep experience with PostgreSQL, including query optimization and index tuning, to support high-volume read/write operations. Responsibilities include designing and optimizing scalable data pipelines using DBT and AWS Glue for large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and storage across cloud infrastructure. The role involves ensuring end-to-end observability and system health through proactive monitoring, alerting, and debugging using tools like Datadog and centralized logging. Additionally, the developer will lead architectural reviews and mentor peers, collaborating cross-functionally with analysts, PMs, and DevOps to deliver reliable, scalable platforms.
