Candidates should have 6-8 years of experience as a Project Manager, Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, or Product Manager in a complex software development environment with multiple stakeholders. Previous experience working for the Center for Medicaid Services (CMS) is required. Experience with ticketing systems like Jira and Confluence is ideal, along with a proven ability to lead complex projects, manage milestones, dependencies, and integrations with significant risk, uncertainty, or scale. Experience working with product, design, and engineering teams in a multi-disciplinary environment and familiarity with agile frameworks like scrum, kanban, or SAFe are necessary. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are also essential.
The Project Manager will manage the support of a mid-to-large scale product, working closely with engineers, designers, and government partners to triage issues and create actionable tickets. They will be responsible for tackling Priority One issues, improving system response and support, and building strong relationships with engineers, client stakeholders, and partner vendors. Key duties include managing the sprint process, estimating efforts, triaging incidents, managing expectations, tracking and communicating progress, removing blockers, building stakeholder relationships, coordinating multiple contractor teams, reporting risks and progress, managing team velocity, and continually improving processes. The role also involves understanding team objectives and capabilities to make project priority decisions and resolve issues.
