Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Able to read a tape measure precisely
  • Ability to lift large sheets of glass
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and remove or replace items up to 50 pounds
  • Maintain attention to detail
  • Basic mathematical calculations
  • Hear audible noises
  • Be exposed to temperature extremes inside or out
  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable (constant noise above 85 decibels)
  • Prolong standing for up to 12 hours performing shift work or in a stationary position
  • Complete repetitive movements

  • Wear all required personal protective equipment
  • Handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Ascend or descend stairs
  • Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a count of the number of pieces of glass placed on the rack
  • Place the glass in the proper orientation onto racks
  • Comply with Westlake Safety Policies
  • Move glass from one rack to another
  • Repeat the process until the rack is full
  • Inspect glass for any defects and identify basic glass defects
  • Check glass quality
  • Communicate with shift supervisors and other line support regarding glass issues
  • Turn in completed orders on time
  • Process work orders and procedures
  • Follow production schedules, loading, and unloading glass
  • Oversee sorting glass according to paperwork specifications
  • Stage pieces of product onto racks to continue with the next part of the process
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities requested by the supervisor
