Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or technology company
- J.D. from an accredited law school and in active good standing with at least one state bar
- Knowledgeable and passionate about technology law and policy, privacy law, and schools
- Practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving
- Strong communicator with the ability to distill complex topics into understandable pieces of guidance for business team members
- Eager to take initiative in a fast-paced, ever-changing, dynamic environment

- Pacific Timezone hours are required
Responsibilities
- Partner with subject matter experts on key issues related to the products providing practical and creative legal guidance in a highly regulated environment
- Advise the product and engineering teams on a wide range of legal issues, including privacy, intellectual property rights, data security, and consumer protection laws (e.g., COPPA, FERPA, CCPA)
- Counsel regarding new feature and product offerings, billing and payments issues, third party partnerships, and integrations
- Support GoGuardian’s product-related communications from product marketing, corporate communications, and other user-facing teams on product-related descriptions and disclosures
- Draft and update end user license agreements, terms of service, privacy policies and consents, and other legal terms for GoGuardian’s customers
- Provide guidance on a variety of other topics related to GoGuardian’s products, including intellectual property, litigation support, and other subject areas as they arise
- Interface effectively and efficiently with external counsel as needed
