Requirements

  • Education: Occupational Health & Safety Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Quality Engineering Management
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in MS software (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge: Health, safety, and/or environmental legislation
  • Knowledge: e-Permitting Systems and Permit-to-Work Management
  • Knowledge: Ontario Mining Regulations
  • Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents
  • Skills: Highly organized with strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Skills: Fluent in English (spoken and written) with good communication skills
  • Skills: Ability to operate autonomously and with groups
  • Skills: Prioritization of tasks/workload

Responsibilities

  • Develop Standard Work Plans for routine tasks within the plant
  • Create, review, and audit SWI’s and SOP’s
  • Assist with the implementation of the company’s (7) Life Critical Programs: Hot Work, Electrical Safety, Confined Space Entry, Safe Mechanical Lifting, Working at Heights, First Line Break, and Energy Isolation
  • Collect and update data in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Consolidate data for implementation of e-Permitting System
  • Utilize 5S methodology (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) to improve safety and efficiency
  • Support project delivery of both capital and non-capital scopes, liaising with clients, contractors, and field personnel
  • Complete project-related tasks and deliverables, including initial design criteria and project approval requests
  • Support project commissioning and start-up activities
  • Complete task and project reporting, including cost and schedule
  • Work mainly dayshift hours (6:00 AM), with occasional off-shift support on a 24/7 site
