Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience. Strong expertise in HL7 FHIR standards and related technologies is essential, including experience with claims data and interoperability. Demonstrated architectural design and strategic planning skills are required, as well as the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

The Principal Software Engineer - FHIR will drive the overall strategy and architecture for FHIR-based software services within federal agencies, crafting long-term roadmaps related to FHIR conformance and standards development. They will collaborate with clients to shape product roadmaps, provide subject matter expertise, train engineers, and drive technical direction within the organization. The role involves working with software engineers to understand FHIR objects and relationships, prototyping new features, and reviewing/improving user documentation and technical plans.
