Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience building modern web platforms and scalable systems with TypeScript, Node.js, and React
  • Deep understanding of browser internals and the Web Platform, including performance, rendering, and security
  • Experience working with visual development tools, design systems, or domain-specific languages
  • Prior experience launching or leading a new engineering hub or site
  • Expertise with Next.js, Remix, Tailwind CSS, or edge and runtime performance optimization
  • Proven experience designing and scaling APIs, services, and distributed systems
  • Solid background in database design and optimization for both SQL and NoSQL systems (MongoDB experience is a plus)
  • Familiarity with modern development practices such as monorepos, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure
  • The ability to clearly explain and defend technical decisions using structured reasoning and awareness of tradeoffs
  • A track record of mentoring engineers

Responsibilities

  • Write and ship production code with high standards for quality and clarity
  • Make well-reasoned architectural decisions, documenting criteria, constraints, and tradeoffs
  • Deeply understand and improve our web platform foundation, including browser rendering, performance, networking, and security
  • Drive platform research and innovation by exploring new frameworks, tools, and methods
  • Mentor engineers and raise technical standards across readability, reliability, and performance
  • Communicate clearly in technical discussions, framing problems precisely and connecting decisions to business outcomes
  • Help shape our hub’s growth by refining interview loops, onboarding, and career paths while building an inclusive and collaborative culture
