Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Solid statistics background (experience with Minitab and/or other advanced statistical analysis packages preferred)
  • Preferred: PhD in material science, polymer physics; optical engineering or vision science with 5 years' experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage individual technical projects, applying specialized knowledge to achieve objectives and drive innovation in analytical chemistry
  • Develop analytical methods, validation processes, and quality control procedures
  • Make operational decisions for projects, utilizing project management skills, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities
  • Work independently, managing your workload and making decisions within your area of expertise
  • Engage in problem-solving and process improvement to contribute to the overall goals of your team
  • Mentor junior colleagues by sharing knowledge and providing guidance on best practices while continuing to expand your own expertise
  • Lead the in-depth understanding and characterization of complex polymer materials including physical, metrological, spectroscopic, and imaging technology
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with project team members to create and refine measurement systems capable of characterizing both nanoscale features and macroscopic in-vitro performance
  • Apply advanced scientific principles to solve problems, provide technical advice, and guide lower-level professionals
