Requirements

Candidates should have 5+ years of experience operating at a Staff+ level, focusing on building and operating production-grade web services. Experience with data stores like CockroachDB or Aurora PostgreSQL, building serverless architectures, and implementing authentication/transport protocols such as OAuth and REST is required. The ability to track and drive metrics, understand their limitations, and possess excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders are also essential. A thoughtful, empathetic approach to leadership and collaboration is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Principal Engineer will drive the vision and execution of Core Engineering teams and provide leadership across the entire engineering organization. This includes defining and maintaining a prioritized platform roadmap, acting as a liaison between engineering teams, and guiding architectural decisions. The role involves coaching and mentoring engineering leaders, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning, and staying current with technology trends. Engineers are also responsible for supporting applications in production, including on-call duties.
