Alcon is seeking a Senior Data Scientist with a strong background in Generative AI to join their R&D Data Science & AI function. This role focuses on leveraging cutting-edge AI-driven solutions for medical device innovation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement next-generation AI models, particularly utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) and Large Multi-Modal (LMM) AI systems. The position involves developing and supporting AI models for new product development, improving existing product features, and integrating advanced AI techniques in cloud environments like AWS and Azure.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's, M.S. (preferred) or Ph.D. (preferred) in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Optics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on working experience in applying AI/ML methods for real-world problem solving in the medical device industry or equivalent experience.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in Python programming and data science libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
  • Expertise in algorithm development, including coding, algorithm testing, algorithm validation, and software development.
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and machine learning.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as AWS Bedrock and Azure AI Studio.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities
