Requirements

Candidates should possess at least 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree or a PhD with 6 years’ experience. Strong experience in API design, code reviews, and core Go code contribution is required, along with knowledge of SaaS application development best practices and end-to-end API lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

This Principal API Engineer will lead the API as a product, collaborate with engineers on a pragmatic plan, ensure API security and secure coding practices, create and maintain API documentation, provide mentorship to a growing team, and offer opinions on CI/CD/CT. The role will also involve contributing to the overall platform architecture, balancing performance, reliability, and extensibility objectives while delivering features to customers, and providing technical leadership for an offshore Go engineering team, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to lead through time zones.
