- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field
- Minimum of 3-8 years of overall experience, with a strong preference for local motor insurance pricing experience
- Must be pursuing actuarial designation or is already an Associate of the Australia
Responsibilities
- Performing rate reviews, rate modeling (such as vehicle model rating), and portfolio monitoring for assigned territories/lines of business
- Collaborating with local businesses to profitably acquire and grow the motor insurance business through visits, presentations, and pricing recommendations to local underwriting agencies and reinsurers
- Liaising with external stakeholders including underwriting agencies, brokers, reinsurers, actuarial consultancies, external vendors, and internal functions (Business Development, Risk, Claims, Finance, and Operations)
- Owning the process of responding to all internal, external, or ad hoc requests for business unit/product line support, with guidance from a manager
- Analyzing data from various source systems, ensuring accuracy, and identifying adjustments for anomalies. Gathering information, completing reports and analysis as directed, and incorporating feedback for reporting and communications
- Assisting with collecting data and responding to inquiries from state insurance departments, auditors, and internal functions regarding business processes, gaps, strategy & improvements
- Identifying system and data inefficiencies and providing recommendations to resolve
- Implementing solutions to translate financial projections into business metrics, understanding area productivity, processes, and business profitability
- Participating in cross-training and knowledge sharing within the team/department to accomplish goals. Actively managing self-development and taking actuarial exams in pursuit of professional designation
