Requirements

Understanding of automated industrial machinery, including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Knowledge of packaging, conveyance, liquid and powder manufacturing equipment and processes
PLC troubleshooting skills
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
Ability to install and troubleshoot basic three-phase motor control circuits
Skills in breakdown analysis
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain Allen-Bradley MicroLogix and ControlLogix hardware
Ability to perform Allen-Bradley PLC programming using RSLogix5, RSLogix500, and RSLogix5000 software or equivalent
Ability to implement and troubleshoot industrial communication networks, including Ethernet, Allen-Bradley Remote I/O, and DeviceNet
Ability to perform PID loop tuning and implement instrument calibration procedures
Knowledge of programming languages relevant to PLCs
Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical control systems, including PLC controls, networking, and HMI systems
Ability to initiate and develop control system modifications and new projects to improve plant performance and reliability
General knowledge of the National Electrical Code
Knowledge of wiring, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems
Ability to read blueprints and schematics
Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, walk around, or climb stairs
Comfortable working around moving machines (mixers, conveyor belts, forklifts)

Responsibilities

Provide input to managing controls and automation systems testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for packaging and processing equipment
Assist in managing the controls and automation interface, testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for all packaging and processing equipment
Assist with the development and modification of PLC & HMI programs
Provide project engineering support to process areas
Provide controls support for the manufacturing facility and assist plant mechanics in troubleshooting
Ensure documentation for control/electrical systems and document change control procedures
Assist with the development and management of controls-related capital projects
Contribute to determination and maintainability of new process control systems and manage process controls change control procedures for existing equipment
