Requirements

Candidates should have 4+ years of experience building production data pipelines or payment systems, preferably in fintech or energy. Expertise in Python and comfort with TypeScript/Node.js is required, along with deep experience in GCP, including Cloud SQL, BigQuery, IAM, Secret Manager, and Cloud Functions or Run. A strong security mindset with encryption at rest and in transit, key rotation, and PCI-level attention to detail is also necessary. Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL schema design for time-series and relational data, as well as a solid grasp of microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and event-driven architectures, are essential.

Responsibilities

As a Data & Platform Engineer, you will own and maintain EcoTrove’s data pipelines, proprietary data sources, cloud infrastructure, and LLM stack. You will build and maintain reliable connectors to multiple energy company portals and public databases, design end-to-end encryption/decryption workflows for customer credentials and API keys, architect secure data storage in GCP, define schemas and ingestion pipelines for high-volume telemetry, develop services in production-grade Python (and ideally TypeScript) for ETL, scheduling, and microservices, implement CI/CD, automated testing, observability (logging/metrics/alerts), and robust error handling. You will also document architecture, mentor engineers on setting standards and best practices, guide code reviews and design discussions, and communicate effectively across functions and mentor other engineers.
