Requirements

  • Experience with pharmacy systems like TaSCO for verifying patient information, logging sales, and handling HIPAA acknowledgments and third-party payors
  • Ability to collaborate with managers, co-workers, customers, and partners; prioritize tasks; adapt to change; and use data/resources effectively

Responsibilities

  • Process member purchases by operating cash registers and handling payments
  • Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking/rotating supplies, removing damaged/out-of-date goods, setting up/cleaning displays, signing/pricing merchandise, and securing high-shrink items
  • Maintain the pharmacy area by handling claims/returns, using equipment for merchandising (e.g., pricing, signing, verifying stock), organizing supplies, identifying shrink/damages, ensuring safety, and completing paperwork/logs
  • Monitor and resolve prescription fulfillment issues, including processing insurance claims, alerting patients to stock/partial fills/authorization needs, and escalating to pharmacist
  • Assist pharmacist in prescription fulfillment, process insurance claims/rejections, help with prescription orders/purchases, and manage required documentation
  • Provide patient/member service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, initiating fulfillment at drop-off, creating orders, promoting products/services, resolving issues, assisting with purchases, locating OTC merchandise, and maintaining a safe environment
  • Enter prescription data into software by reading prescriptions, transcribing details (e.g., date, drug, strength, sig, refills, physician/DEA info), and creating/modifying patient records
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving orders, preparing medications (counting, pouring, measuring, weighing, mixing), selecting/filling/labeling containers, and ensuring accuracy with equipment
  • Assist at prescription pick-up by verifying/entering patient info into TaSCO, marking/retrieving prescriptions, scanning tags, gathering signatures (HIPAA/third-party), and logging restricted item sales
  • Complete work assignments by using policies/data/resources, collaborating with others, identifying priorities/deadlines, communicating progress, recommending improvements, and adapting to change/feedback
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards
