Requirements
- Ability to operate cash registers and related hardware using appropriate procedures for different payment types and items sold
- Knowledge of maintaining merchandise presentation, including stocking, rotating, removing damaged/out-of-date goods, setting up displays, signing/pricing, and securing merchandise
- Familiarity with company policies and procedures for handling claims, returns, merchandising functions (e.g., pricing, signing, verifying stock), ensuring safe work environment, and completing paperwork
- Skills in monitoring and resolving prescription fulfillment issues, including processing third-party insurance claims, rescanning images, alerting patients to stock issues/partial fills/physician authorizations, and identifying pharmacist-needed actions
- Compliance with local, state, federal laws, and corporate policies for providing pharmacy products/services, assisting pharmacists, processing claims/rejections, and handling documentation
- Capability to provide patient/member service, including acknowledging members, identifying needs, initiating fulfillment, promoting products, resolving issues, assisting purchases, locating OTC merchandise, and maintaining safe environment
- Proficiency in entering prescription data into pharmacy software (reading prescriptions, translating to codes, transcribing details like date, drug, strength, sig, refills, physician/DEA info, creating/modifying patient records)
- Experience filling prescriptions (retrieving orders, counting/pouring/measuring/weighing medications, mixing/reconstituting, selecting/filling/labeling containers, using scanning/automated systems)
- Ability to assist at pickup (verifying/entering patient info in TaSCO, marking prescriptions, retrieving bags, scanning tags, gathering signatures for HIPAA/third-party, logging restricted items)
- Competence in completing work assignments using policies/data/resources, collaborating, prioritizing, communicating, adapting to change, and complying with ethics/integrity standards
Responsibilities
- Process member purchases by operating cash registers and handling payments
- Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy (stocking, rotating, removing damaged/out-of-date goods, setting up/cleaning/organizing displays, signing/pricing, securing fragile/high-shrink items)
- Maintain pharmacy area per policies (handle claims/returns, use equipment for merchandising, verify stock, arrange supplies, identify shrink/damages, ensure safety, complete paperwork)
- Monitor/resolve prescription fulfillment problems (process insurance claims, rescan images, alert patients on stock/partial fills/authorizations, identify pharmacist actions)
- Promote pharmacy reputation and provide services per laws/policies (assist pharmacist in fulfillment, process claims/rejections, help with orders/purchases, manage documentation)
- Provide patient/member service (acknowledge members, identify needs, initiate fulfillment at drop-off, create orders, promote products/services, resolve issues, assist purchases, locate OTC, maintain safe environment)
