Responsibilities

Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager and oversee the pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap, including coaching team members, providing feedback, and strengthening performance measures
Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, coaching the team, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues
Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, and engage/support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching on best practices, especially protecting cold chain products
Partner with Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating issues as needed
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; support Pharmacy Manager by writing the pharmacy schedule if directed
Actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) where permissible, and empower the team to provide such services
