Requirements

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in hardware validation, lab testing, and PCB-level debugging is required. A strong understanding of power and signal integrity principles, along with familiarity with PCI-E, I2C, and other relevant hardware interfaces and protocols, is essential. Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies is necessary. Hands-on experience in debugging hardware issues and conducting root cause analysis is expected, along with knowledge of power sequencing and microcontroller systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in scripting languages, are also important.

Responsibilities

The PCB Hardware Validation Engineer will focus on validating the functionality of printed circuit boards and ensuring adequate power margins across all interfaces. They will perform PCB function verification to ensure all functions meet design specifications and validate critical parameters such as power and signal integrity margins. The engineer will collect and analyze lab data to verify margins for power delivery networks, signal integrity, and overall system robustness. They will collaborate on post-silicon validation efforts, identify key performance metrics, and conduct PVT, power, and thermal characterization to ensure alignment with design targets. Additionally, the engineer will evaluate PCI-E performance, identify critical bugs, drive root cause analysis to resolution, design and execute DOE experiments, validate power sequencing, and maintain and track critical hardware PCB issues while ensuring effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
