Requirements

1–2 years of experience in property management, real estate, or a related field (student housing experience is a plus)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Familiarity with California landlord/tenant laws and Berkeley rent control ordinances (preferred)

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants, addressing inquiries, concerns, and maintenance requests promptly and professionally
Coordinate and follow up on maintenance and repair work with vendors and contractors
Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with local housing regulations
Manage leasing process, including showing units, screening applicants, preparing lease agreements, and handling move-in/move-out procedures
Enforce lease terms and assist with rent collection and late payment follow-ups
Maintain accurate records, including tenant files, lease agreements, maintenance logs, and rent payments
Ensure compliance with city, state, and federal housing regulations
