Registered Nurse (RN) license
No prior RN dialysis experience required (entry-level position with 12 weeks of paid training)

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment, document in medical record, adjust treatment plan as indicated, and notify appropriate team members
Recognize and report aspects of patient status that vary from normal, collaborating with health team members
Assess daily assigned patient care needs and collaborate with direct and ancillary staff to provide safe and effective chronic hemodialysis therapy
Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms, documenting justification and effectiveness
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, shipping, and reschedule missed collections
Ensure physician orders are entered and acknowledged in the medical record
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Delegate tasks to direct patient care staff (e.g., LVN/LPNs, Patient Care Technicians) and monitor adherence to policies
Promote infection control, equipment, and environmental safety
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education
Identify expected outcomes, update nursing assessment and plan of care through Interdisciplinary Team collaboration
Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options
Make referrals to Social Worker and Registered Dietitian as appropriate
Check availability of adequate emergency equipment and supplies
Assist with medication tracking and inventory
Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities
Perform all duties in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, nursing standards, and regulations, under supervision initially
