The role involves providing and coordinating clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, along with delegation of tasks to direct patient care staff, patient data collection and analysis, medication administration, and participation in quality improvement activities.

The position requires performing essential functions under the direction of a Supervisor with guidance from Clinical Educator or Preceptor, ongoing collection and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis, patient and family education, medication administration, emergency response, and collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.

This is an entry-level designation into the CAP, requiring completion of CAP requirements to advance, with accountability for patient care, decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement.

A strong candidate should have the ability to perform under supervision with guidance, handle hemodialysis patient care including data analysis and treatment adjustments, educate patients and families, administer medications, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams while meeting CAP advancement requirements.
