Candidates should possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. A minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an outpatient setting or with experience in renal care, is required. Strong clinical assessment skills and knowledge of patient care principles are essential.
The Outpatient Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care to patients undergoing hemodialysis, including assessing patient needs, developing care assignments, and monitoring patient response to treatment. They will also delegate tasks to other patient care staff, educate patients and families on ESRD and dialysis therapy, implement treatment prescriptions, and communicate patient-related issues to the Team Leader or physician. Furthermore, the nurse will participate in staff training, meetings, and quality improvement activities, ensuring adherence to facility policies and procedures, and maintaining patient safety and satisfaction.
