Registered Nurse (RN) license
Entry-level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP); required to complete CAP requirements to advance
Ability to perform physical demands: heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending, moving machines/equipment up to 200 lbs. (with assistance), lifting chemical/water solutions up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
Comfortable in a health care facility environment with air temperature control, moderate noise, potential exposure to infectious/contagious diseases, desk/computer work, patient/staff/physician interactions, and possible travel to training/other facilities

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment, document in medical record, adjust/modify treatment plan as indicated, and notify Team Leader/Charge Nurse/Supervisor/Physician as needed
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family’s basic learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education to patients and family
Direct and provide, in collaboration with direct and ancillary staff, all aspects of daily safe and effective hemodialysis therapy delivery to assigned patients
Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithm(s), document medical justification and effectiveness
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Serve as a resource for health care team, participate in staff training and orientation of new staff
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, shipping; reschedule missed/insufficient collections
Identify expected outcomes, document and update nursing assessment and plan of care through collaboration with Interdisciplinary Team
Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options
Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities
Perform all duties in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, standards of nursing practice, state/federal regulations, under direction of Supervisor and guidance from Clinical Educator/Preceptor or in collaboration with other RNs
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
