Registered Nurse (RN) license
Entry-level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP)
Ability to perform physical demands: heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending, moving machines/equipment up to 200 lbs. (with assistance), lifting chemical/water solutions up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet
Comfortable in a health care facility environment with moderate noise, potential exposure to infectious/contagious diseases
Capable of desk work, computer work, patient/staff interactions, and occasional travel to training sites or other facilities
Required to complete CAP requirements to advance

Responsibilities

Perform all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor, or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses
Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment, document in patient medical record, make adjustments to treatment plan, and notify Team Leader, Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Physician as needed
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family’s basic learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education
Direct and provide, in collaboration with direct and ancillary patient care staff, all aspects of the daily provision of safe and effective hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients
Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithm(s), and document medical justification and effectiveness
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Serve as a resource for health care team, participate in staff training and orientation of new staff
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, shipping procedures, and reschedule missed/insufficient collections
Identify expected outcomes, document and update nursing assessment and plan of care through collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team
Ensure patient awareness related to transplant and treatment modality options
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
