Registered Nurse (RN) license
Entry-level designation into Clinical Advancement Program (CAP 1)
Willingness to complete CAP requirements to advance
Ability to perform physical demands: heavy lifting, moving patients, assisting with ambulation, frequent prolonged standing, bending, lifting up to 30 lbs. as high as 5 feet, moving equipment up to 200 lbs. with assistance
Ability to work in a health care facility environment with moderate noise, potential exposure to infectious diseases, and air temperature control
Capability for desk work, computer work, patient interaction, and occasional travel to training sites or other facilities

Responsibilities

Provide and coordinate clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
Delegate appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff (RNs, LVN/LPNs, Patient Care Technicians)
Participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities as part of the ESKD health care team
Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post hemodialysis treatment, document in medical record, adjust treatment plans, and notify supervisors/physicians as needed
Assess, collaborate, and document patient/family learning needs; provide initial and ongoing education
Direct and provide safe and effective hemodialysis therapy delivery in collaboration with staff
Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms, documenting justification and effectiveness
Initiate or assist with emergency response measures
Serve as a resource for the health care team, participate in staff training and orientation
Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, shipping; reschedule missed collections
Identify expected outcomes, document and update nursing assessment and plan of care via Interdisciplinary Team collaboration
Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options
Perform all duties in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, nursing standards, and state/federal regulations
Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
