Requirements

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure
Ability to function as part of the hemodialysis health care team under direct supervision of a registered nurse
Adherence to FMCNA Compliance Program, regulatory requirements, division/company policies, mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy
Knowledge and skills in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy, including technical aspects of dialysis procedures
Ability to monitor, document, and report patient conditions, treatment parameters, incidents, complaints, or problems
Capability to assist in patient and family education on end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications
Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for assigned patients, including all technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed
Administer and monitor dialysis treatments in accordance with the current treatment plan or supervisor directions
Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on dialysis flow sheets and other patient care information in individual patient records
Report significant information, changes in patient condition, or equipment problems to the supervisor
Participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care
Assist in developing and following the teaching plan to educate patients and families regarding end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications
Drive FMCNA culture through values and customer service standards, providing outstanding service to external and internal customers
Develop and maintain effective relationships through timely communication, taking initiative to respond, resolve, and follow up on customer service issues
Promote and assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Document all new or unusual incidents, information, complaints, or problems
