Requirements

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensure
Ability to function as part of the hemodialysis health care team under direct supervision of a registered nurse
Adherence to FMCNA Compliance Program, regulatory requirements, division/company policies, mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy
Skills in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy, performing technical aspects of dialysis procedures, administering and monitoring treatments
Ability to monitor, document, and report patient treatment parameters, changes in condition, incidents, equipment problems, and other significant information
Capability to assist in patient and family education on end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications
Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Strong customer service skills, effective communication, and relationship-building with patients, families, and team members

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for assigned patients, including all technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed
Administer and monitor dialysis treatments in accordance with the current treatment plan or supervisor directions
Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on flow sheets and other patient care information in individual patient records
Report all new or unusual incidents, significant information, changes in patient condition, complaints, problems, or equipment issues to the supervisor
Participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care
Assist in developing and following teaching plans to educate patients and families on end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications
Assist with all emergency situations
Drive FMCNA culture through values and customer service standards, ensuring outstanding service to external and internal customers
Develop and maintain effective relationships through timely communication; take initiative to respond, resolve, and follow up on customer service issues
Promote and assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment
