Requirements

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
Ability to function as part of the hemodialysis health care team under direct supervision of a registered nurse
Adherence to FMCNA Compliance Program, regulatory requirements, and company policies
Knowledge of dialysis therapy, end stage renal disease, diet, and medications
Skills in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy, patient care, and technical dialysis procedures

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care and perform all technical aspects of dialysis procedures for assigned patients as prescribed
Administer and monitor treatments in accordance with the current treatment plan or supervisor directions
Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on dialysis flow sheets and other patient record information
Report and document all new or unusual incidents, significant information, changes in patient condition, complaints, problems, or equipment issues to the supervisor
Assist in developing and following the teaching plan to educate patients and families regarding end stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet, and medications
Drive FMCNA culture through values and customer service standards, providing outstanding service to all customers
Develop and maintain effective relationships through timely communication and take initiative to resolve customer service issues
Participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care
Promote and assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment
