Organic Chemistry I & II and corresponding labs
Analytical Chemistry course/lab; exposure to modern analytical techniques (NMR, Mass Spectrometry, HPLC)
Good laboratory notebook practices
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment

Plan, setup, and conduct organic reactions in a laboratory setting to synthesize new compounds
Learn and apply various analytical techniques (e.g., NMR, LCMS, HPLC) to monitor reactions and characterize compounds
Conduct organic synthesis in a laboratory setting
Collect and document experimental results, including analytical data, in a laboratory notebook
Communicate results to the laboratory supervisor
Perform literature searches as needed
Prepare a final research report based on results
Potentially communicate results via scientific poster (Zoetis Science Symposium) and/or scientific journal
