Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in agricultural areas or equivalent (preferred)
  • Experience not required, but internships in relevant areas recommended
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of spreadsheets and email
  • Ability to travel within the complex
  • Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl

Responsibilities

  • Learn all aspects of Live Production operations, including Hatchery, Feed mill, Live haul, Breeders, and Broilers, and how they work together
  • Ensure communication between hatchery, feed mill, vaccination crews, and live-haul as it pertains to contract farms
  • Conduct farm visits, including management of flocks and building relationships with contract growers
  • Advise producers regarding building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation
  • Document bird comfort, manage flocks and equipment settings, monitor feed consumption, and order feed during farm visits
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, Animal Welfare, and other government regulations when handling poultry
  • Observe and learn duties to prepare for role as technician or supervisor over a specific area
  • Understand management of all areas of Live Production
  • Other duties as required
