Requirements

Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice (Upon Hire)
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Knowledge of age-specific factors for patients from infant through geriatrics

Responsibilities

Coordinate and deliver daily occupational therapy services, implementing specific treatment programs for individual patients and patient groups
Develop and implement individualized treatment programs based on evaluations from patient records, interviews, observations, and team input
Evaluate assigned patients and gather data from various sources
Use selected activities/tasks to promote health, maintain function, and achieve treatment goals
Establish and modify intervention goals and strategies based on ongoing evaluations
Provide direct therapy services using various functional settings and strategies
Plan therapy within the patient’s physical, emotional, and intellectual capabilities, coordinated with rehabilitation, medical, and nursing care plans
Prepare required documentation, including evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress notes, and reports
Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members regarding status, progress, and needs
Establish rapport and cooperate with interdisciplinary team members (including family/physician) throughout the intervention program
Enhance professional growth through educational programs, literature, in-services, workshops, and share knowledge with co-workers
Evaluate and monitor clinical internships for students
Participate in department program development
