Currently enrolled in college with completion of all but the final one or two semesters of nursing program
Ability to work part-time PRN hours: 7am-7pm; 3-12hr shifts per week, primarily days with rotating every 3rd weekend and holiday
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds

Responsibilities

Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating nursing care plans, coordinating with healthcare providers, and offering physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; conferring with physicians
Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical condition, psychological status, and social factors, conferring with family and friends, developing nursing diagnoses, establishing objectives, and defining interventions, schedules, and timetables
Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals, instructing patients, families, and friends on conditions, medications, and self-care skills, answering questions, and providing information and resources
Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, reviewing records, noting changing conditions, re-evaluating objectives, and modifying care plans
Maintain safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by following infection-control policies, medication administration/storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, organization standards, policies, and legal regulations; alerting others to potential concerns
Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records
Maintain patient care equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
Keep patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing/expediting orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items
Enhance nursing capabilities during training as outlined by leadership and mentor
Practice at a competent level of nursing care and demonstrate competent, professional behavior under the direction and guidance of a Registered Nurse mentor, utilizing the nursing process and assuming responsibility for actions and patient care outcomes
