Requirements

Active Family Nurse Practitioner license in good standing
Minimum of two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent
Experience in Family medicine or primary care practice preferred
Complete the DOT certification exam within 30 days of employment
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including performing CPR
Depending on the market, proficiency in speaking and writing additional languages (e.g., Spanish)

Responsibilities

Provide primary and family evidenced-based care, including accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning
Provide holistic, evidenced-based care, including education and treatment for pregnancy prevention, STI prevention, and safer sex practices
Order and administer immunizations and injections (e.g., COVID-19, influenza, TB, Depo) and provide evidence-based patient/parent vaccine counseling and education
Perform administrative duties, including opening/closing the clinic, inventory, patient follow-up, verifying insurance, collecting payment, and maintaining a clean environment
Handle patient appointments and perform routine examinations to ensure positive patient health outcomes
Speak with patients about healthy lifestyle choices, complete diagnostic tests to diagnose and treat injuries or illnesses, and coordinate with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive care plans
Encourage patients to become active participants in their healthcare through services like health screenings, behavioral health and wellness, and chronic condition management
