Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Must meet the medical requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT)
  • Commercial or professional driving experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries
  • Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles (limited to GVW of 14,900 lbs.)
  • Use hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location, including up and down stairs as necessary
  • Accurately record delivery information, including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation
  • Handle proper documentation and disposition for any return product
  • Communicate delivery-customer issues to proper authority (e.g., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor)
  • Deliver product to each designated stop following the provided stop sequence
  • Unload product safely and stage it in the space(s) designated by the customer
  • Check invoice for complete delivery, process paperwork, and handle damaged merchandise if any
  • Collect payments if necessary
  • Monitor refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle consistently for safety and follow all safe food handling procedures
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections (e.g., monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash, replenishing fuel)
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Complete all functions in a safe and timely manner in accordance with DOT regulations
